Consumer Testing Shows PS3 and 360 Use a Lot of Power
A well respected Australian consumer magazine says the 360 and PS3 are costing you quite a bit to keep them running June 4th, 2008 (10:08am) - The Australian consumer magazine, Choice, has conducted a test of various electronics and how much power they consume. As consumers are more and more concerned with the price of fuel and energy, the cost of running a PS3 and 360 could actually end up being an extravagant luxury.
The PS3 ends up being king of the electronics tested costing you $250.58 to run the system for one year if you were inclined to play constantly for an entire year. The 360 clocks in at $195.42 while the Wii shows off some conservation skills by coming in at $23.62. Your standard DVD player comes in at $33.07 to run for an entire year. That means the Wii is using little more than two thirds of the power of DVD player. That is quite a difference between the Wii and the other two major consoles. Maybe Nintendo can start designing cars too. You can see the whole list right here Reported by Jeremy Barnes on June 4th, 2008 (10:08am) [From: Kotaku]
