Capcom USA Rejected RE0 Wii
There had to be a reason Capcom wasnt allowing a re-release of an old game... right? June 10th, 2008 (6:45am) - When you step back to look at how shamelessly Capcom ports their successful titles around (Resident Evil 4 has come to, lets see here, four systems so far) its not surprising when you see another one coming down the pipe. It is surprising, however, when a re-release is coming to Japan but is denied a chance in the States. Such is the case with Resident Evil 0 and its Japan only Wii release.
According to Capcoms VP of strategic planning Christian Svensson, its actually Capcom USAs call. The decision isnt final, but the branch has "been asked twice if weve wanted to bring it Westward and twice weve declined," said Svensson. "Theres thousands of used copies on Ebay and at Gamestop, and given the outcry against the project when Japan announced it on these boards and others, its pretty obvious that its not wanted by gamers here." So, you have it right from the VPs mouth: Pick up a used copy and do absolutely nothing for Capcoms bottom line. Now how about some more original games guys?
