Nintendo To Sue Nyko
Want a wireless nunchuck? Better get to them before they become high-priced Ebay relics. June 14th, 2008 (1:40pm) - The Nintendo Wii has seen its fair share of third party products from Nyko, many of which work incredibly well. The Perfect Shot is the prefered gun attatchment by many enthusiasts. The companys controller charger is critically acclaimed as well. The Wireless Kama Nunchuck is reportedly a great product as well, but Nintendo is unhappy with just how accurately the product replicates the official corded device.
In the court appeal, Nintendo claims the Kama "wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller. "While Nintendo supports the creation of innovative games and products used with our game systems, we cannot allow third parties to infringe our intellectual property rights," said Nintendo of Americas Denise Kaigler. Nyko said in an interview with Bloomberg that they "have not knowingly violated anyones intellectual property." Reported by Anthony Swinnich on June 14th, 2008 (1:40pm) [From: IGN]
