Tecmo To Publish New DS RPG

The people who brought you the DS versions of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV are up to something original.

July 3rd, 2008 (8:18am) - Red Entertainment and Matrix are set to bring a new RPG to the DS, titled Nostalgio no Kaze, which translates to "Wind of Nostalgio."

The game is being put together by the same people who put Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV together for the Nintendo DS. Some members of the team worked on the Grandia and Fatal Frame games.

Nostalgio will be set in the 19th century. The main character, Eddy, who is the son of an English adventurer. The journey starts in London but eventually expands to other parts of the world.

One of the game’s main ideas is flight, so the main character uses an airship to get around. In addition to normal dungeon based hack-battles, airships will also be used in combat, which sounds a little like the seminal Dreamcast classic Skies of Arcadia in theory.

The game is currently cited at 65% complete, and there is no word yet on a US release.
