Square Enix Pwned By State of IL, Legislature Aggroes FF Online Customer Service
August 18th, 2008 (11:50am) - Square Enix recently received a lesson in customer services from the Illinois state legislature in the form of House Bill 4178.
Alex Edwards was a subscriber to Final Fantasy Online for several months, paying $13 a month in credit card charges for the membership. However once he decided to cancel the subscription his parents found the cancellation method to be somewhat less than obvious. Only by going over a credit card statement were they able to locate a number to call for a cancellation, which resulted in a pleasant 1 hour and 45 minute wait. Not one to take such a horrible customer experience lying down Alexs father enlisted the help of his friend, State Rep. Raymond Poe. Representative Poe successfully passed a bill, HB4178, that requires all game sites to allow cancellations online. Reported by Justin Bigelow on August 18th, 2008 (11:50am)
