DRM and Crappy Gameplay Be Damned - Spore Spreads!

September 10th, 2008 (7:41pm) - The long awaited and (over) hyped evolution simulation game Spore from uber-game creator Will Wright and EA has finally hit the shelves. And the consensus seems to be that....

it sucks.

But that doesn’t seem to be hindering sales much. According to Amazon.com the game has received 1,957 one star ratings (out of five stars) out of 2,128 ratings so far. Coupled with a DRM scheme that Stalin would view as harsh you would think gamers would be avoiding this game like the plague. Nope. The game flitters between the 1st and second positions on Amazon.com’s "Best Sellers in Videogames" list.
