Oh No!!!!! That’s what millions of gamers screamed. When they got news of a new Mortal Kombat. After Mortal Kombat 4, & Special Forces why even try? Mortal Kombat once the only fighting game that could stand toe to toe with Street Fighter in a popularity contest. But once Midway stepped into the 3D world. Many MK fans were disappointed(I wasn’t). And that was the end of a great franchise. Or so we thought. On August 17, 2001 Midway announced the next installment in the Mortal Kombat series. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Will Sub-Zero(the both of them) and friends be able to make a comeback. Only time will tell.

- Brand new Kombat system: every character will have 3 different fighting styles
- Classic MK characters return. the likes of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Sonya, Cyrax, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi will all be present
- New characters include Blind Kenshi, Drahmin, and Malvado
- Full 3D movement ala Soul Caliber
- Fighting effects like ripped clothing, bruises, sweat dripping, blood dripping, and running down bodies only found here

They have formed a deadly alliance that, if let to brew long enough, will surely perish other fighters Raiden and the mortals of the universe." And this my friend is why it’s up to you. To save the world from the clutches of evil.
Lead by Ed Boon(sadly John Tobias is not on this project) Midway is ready to revive MK. By bringing back those chain combos, fast combat, & new and more fatalities. Oh and don’t expect any dumb stuff like friendships & babalities. It’s Kill or be killed. Midway has also created character in the game with more than 7,000 polygons each. To become the most pretty MK ever. Sure it’s no Soul Caliber 2. But still impressive.

-Outlook-
MKDA look good. Really good. But not great. Will ex-MK fans flock back over a game that looks just good?? I don’t think so. But Ed Boon and team had time to ensure that MKDA comes out GREAT. Not just good. Allot is riding on MKDA. And with all that weight on their shoulders. I think Midway can step up and deliver.
