Take a RPG with an awesome plot, add awesome cut scenes, mix vigorusly, and you get an awesome game such as FF9. But now Squaresoft is turning it up a notch with FFX on the PS2. One of the major differences that youll probably notice right off the bat is the fact that while playing the game youll see no pre-rendered backgrounds, which means the PS2 is constantly drawing the backgrounds. The camera is constantly shifting angles, so the game will feel a little more frantic. This alone is enough to make my mouth water. There will also be SWEET motion capture movments and facial animations. The early pictures of this game provide me with enough eyecandy to want to import this game, which Im sure many people have already. In the sound department there isnt much to cover. The games music will be CD quality. There will be INSANE ammounts of voice acting. The game will support Dolby Digital Surround Sound. In this FF game you control a character named Tidus, who is a big blitzball star. Blitzball is basically an underwater soccer. Tidus gains friends that tag along with him (like all the FF games). From what Ive heard, you will encounter seven playable characters. As for gameplay youll notice that you can switch characters in mid fight. Another little nifty feature is that you dont have to wait untill your energy bar is a full before you can attack. And this time around the Aeons are useable, which is a big plus. In this you earn shpere levels in place of the baisic level 1, 2, ect. AP is earned to increase sphere level. Shpere levels are also consumeable, which in english means, you can consume shpere levels to earn certain abilities. Shpere levels are used for one basic thing though, and that is moving around on a board type deal, Im not sure exactly where Square is going with this concept, but if its from Square it needs to be played. Due to the HUGE ammounts of voice acting and the very wonderful graphics this game will come on DVD-Rom in Febuary 2002. |
