A terrible movie indeed, but little do people know that the Judge Dredd movie had actually been inspired by a well received comic book series of the same name. Of course, that is unless you spend much of your time with your mind deep into comic books. Well besides the fact, Evolved Games and in-house developer Rebellion have set out to deliver a First-Person Shooter based on the original Judge Dredd comic book series for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and PC. Titled Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death, the game send players into the comic book’s futuristic setting in Mega-City One, where the city’s judges uphold order and justice with a “powerful fist,” or in other words, open up a serious can of whoop-ass on every punk that crosses their path.
In Dredd vs. Death players play as the most revered and dangerous judge Mega-City One has to offer, Judge Dredd. Equipped with the “LawGiver,” his all-purpose projectile weapon that features six types of fire (machine gun, armor-piercing, heat-seeking, high explosive, incendiary, and ricochet), Dredd restores law through eleven action packed chapters, arresting criminals through their own peaceful surrender, or by whichever means need be necessary. However, Dredd is susceptible to the law as well… If by chance things are not done in an orderly and just manner (i.e. blatantly murdering criminals instead of apprehending them and/or murdering civilians), other judges will attempt to punish Dredd himself for his inhumane actions. Game Features: • 11 chapters and more than two dozen levels of gameplay • Face over 50 unique characters including zombies, undead judges, wraiths, crooks and demons • Two-player co-operative play through the entirety of the storyline • Four-player split screen action lets you battle your friends in deathmatch, blockwar and nearly a dozen other modes • Completing each Story Chapter unlocks up to 5 different multiplayer models, with more than 60 models to unlock in total • Featuring Asura’s state-of-the-art engine and tools suite, developed in-house at Rebellion An overlooked title that may actually hold some promise, Judge Dredd: Death vs. Death is scheduled for release on November 23rd. |
