Overview Vietcong: Purple Haze takes place during the Vietnam War, in the 1960s. You will be in control of a soldier who is put in a U.S. Special Forces team. Your mission is reconnaissance and gathering information in the jungles of Northern Vietnam. In Vietcong, you will be scouting many tactical areas. You’ll set traps for your prey to fall into, order air strikes, and catch enemies off guard with ambushes. Gameplay There is a Quick Fight mode in the game, where you are given the opportunity to fight either as a U.S. or Vietcong soldier. This will give you two different perspectives, and players will definitely want to try this out. Maybe you want to scream, "DIE, VIETCONG!!". Maybe instead you want to yell out, "YAAAAHHHH!! GET THE AMERICANS!!". It’s your choice. In addition, you can choose your own weapon to use, the stage, and amount of enemies as well as difficulty. Then, see if you can get a good time on the clock. On the Xbox version, you can play online with Xbox Live. You can battle with up to eight players at a time, in nine multiplayer stages. Now you can laugh heartily when you kill your friends... online. To keep you busy, you can download new maps and game upgrades.
Weapons More than 30 unlockable weapons will be at your disposal. These include the M16, M60, Mosin-Nagent, Sten MKII, and the M79 grenade launcher. Missions There are 19 missions in the single player campaign, including 17 from the PC version and 2 new ones for consoles only. Soundtrack Vietcong’s soundtrack will be in the style of the 1960s, and it will include pieces from bands like Deep Purple, Iggy and the Stooges, the Standells and more. Vietcong: Purple Haze is scheduled to be released on September 15. GamersMark will be getting a review out to you around that time. |
