The outlaws are here. They’re mean, they’re nasty, and they’re here to... play some golf. Oh no, not your regular nice clothes, friendly attitude, shaking hands kind of golf--this is Outlaw Golf, and this time it has brought along the number 2 with it.
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Characters
There will be 11 characters, all geared toward looking like outlaws, criminals, and the "bad people" you see on television. And if you guessed that they will be doing outrageous things on the course, then whad’ya know, you’re right.
Courses
8 courses will be offered in Outlaw Golf 2, each with their own weather conditions. 3 of these stages will be from the original Outlaw Golf, and 5 are new. Among these environments are courses like Glacier Ridge and Aztec Acres. To top it all off, Outlaw Golf 2 will even have a full-sized mini-golf course and driving range.
Unlockables
By winning events in the tour, players will be able to unlock different clubs and balls that can be used during tour or exhibition play. Oh yeah, I almost forgot--you will also be able to unlock "revealing" outfits for your character. I for one like the idea, and I’m sure many of you do too.
Modes
13 modes will be there for you to play. You know, like match play, tournament play, Time Attack, Bingo Bango, and Baseball Golf.
Online Play
I know that many of you are too reluctant to get up off your armchair and walk across the street to your friend’s house to give him an ass-whoopin’ in a videogame. Well, in Outlaw Golf 2, you are able to do it online. Both the Xbox and PS2 support online play. I also need to mention that four players can golf at the same time, so you can beat not one, not two, but three people.
To add to the carnage, Outlaw Golf 2 will have online leader boards, where players can upload their scores on Xbox Live.
Composure Response System
I know what you’re thinking. What is this long string of words that I cannot read? you ask. Alright, little Timmy, let’s see now. Composure affects the way people play right? (Right! you say.) If someone has low composure, he’ll probably struggle in making clean shots, while if another has high composure, he will be able to make great shots easily. Therefore, composure will affect how good or bad a player plays.
If you need to increase your Composure Response meter, all you have to do is simply beat up your caddie. Seriously. Because beating someone up makes you feel good.
Mr. Kevin?
Yes, Timmy?
I forgot to ask you, what does "composure" mean?
Eh, forget it; go look it up.
Cart Driving System
It seems that Outlaw Golf 2 is a golfing game with a little bit of Gran Turismo and SSX in it. You can drive your golf cart around, doing tricks like donuts, slides, and jumps to raise your Composure Response meter. Interesting.
Soundtrack
In Outlaw Golf 2, you can customize your own soundtracks using the Xbox hard drive.
Outlaw Golf 2 is scheduled to be released in mid-October. And get this--it’s only going to be priced at 20 dollars. Let’s repeat that, class, twenty dollars. The question of whether it will be worth your money, we will see. But the game sure looks like it could be on its way to selling another hundreds of thousands of copies.
GamersMark will be getting a review out to you around the game’s release date.
