DOA3 PREVIEW
You walk into a crisp morning among the trees as the leaves brush slowly past you, cutting through the air and gently scraping the sides of your face as they twirl about. The distant ocean moves rhythmically to the oncoming storms breeze, leaving glistening crystals of sand, untouched mimickers of the sun. Beyond you glance at the flock of birds, growing, living shadows of the sun.
As you walk onto the stone, oval arena you take in the scene like a breath of fresh air. Your uniform stretching to the currents of the wind, the belt lancing up into the air like a living creature. You lower your head to hear a faint whisper, a footstep in the distance from your backside. Clenching your fist you close your sweat covered eyes and raise your heels from the ground. With the speed of lighting and a crack of thunder you spin your leg around and intercept your enemy from behind you. He turns dramatically in the air and falls to the arena floor. Uncovering his dark mask he lifts himself back to his feet and turns to face you.
A ninja…
Without hesitation he jumps into the air and lifts his knee, straightens his leg, and slams his foot into your chest knocking you off the arena pillar and a clear hundred yards down to the sandy surface below.
You land as a sharp pain stabs at your back. To your surprise though, you are able to stand, wobbling your way back to your feet so you can ready for the next attack.
Suddenly, without warning the dark ninja throws himself down on top of you. You pull your hands across his neck as he grabs hold of your shoulders, trying to throw you over him. Then at the last second you twirl around and launch your enemy into the clashing shore and watch as he tumbles through moist sands.
Catching your breath you run towards the unsuspecting, crippled figure and jump into the air. Before you can reach your target though, an alien foot slams into your nose knocking you back once more into the cliff walls. Pain fills your entire body as you notice a female ninja eyeing you, awaiting your next move. Her ally stands, now ready to back her up as they both advance on your position.
You stand, clasping you side in pain, but then, as much as hope can wish for another figure steps in front of you, guarding you and aiding you. You summon the rest of your strength and join the mysterious figure at his side, readying yourself, and wiping the blood from your chin.
What is to come next? Who knows…but you are the fighter…you are invincible and you are unreal…
Wish this could really happen? Well it can. Maybe not in real life, but this stuff can happen. DOA3, a launch title for the Xbox gaming console will provide this type of action, realism, and fighting spirit that no other fighting game has offered before.
