Segas Dreamcast and Dreamcast-based Naomi arcade hardware brought gamers a multitude of classics at around the turn of the century, including one by the name of Virtua Tennis. Its beautiful graphics and motion captured animation combined with easy-to-learn gameplay mechanics made it easily accessible to everyone, and everyone wanted to play. Players will feel right at home with the PSP versions controls, while the graphics look very close to the original as well (nice work Sega). Stadiums and characters are rendered in real-time 3d, though this time around the crowd is replaced by static images - no big loss, really. Animations are very lifelike as you would expect from a Virtua Tennis game. Not too much is known about the title right now, but I imagine well see at least an adhoc head-to-head wireless mode thrown in for good measure. Expect more info in the months leading up to its release, later this year in the 3rd quarter (July-Septemberish). For now, check out a short video we took at last weeks E3, being graciously hosted by our friends at www.xboxyde.com and www.gamesmediamirror.com. CLICK HERE TO GO TO DOWNLOAD PAGE |
