After a four year hiatus from the platforming genre, Mario will be making his grand return and his plan is to reclaim the throne as the king of platformers as Nintendo finally unveils Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii. With this latest adventure, Mario takes his largest leap ever, into space. Not to spoil any story details for readers, but Super Mario Galaxy follows the classic Super Mario plot which involves Princess Peach being kidnapped, except this time by a mysterious creature that takes her into space. Of course, not even space is a challenge for Mario and our mustachioed hero pursues this creature in order to save his damsel in distress. In space, Mario will encounter wacky new enemies as he hops from planet to planet, from meteor to meteor, in what is shaping up to be the most tripped out Mario game in history. While in-space, Mario will have a slew of new moves at his disposal, many of which have been only made possible by the use of the Wiis innovative motion sensitive controller. Super Mario Galaxy is being developed by Nintendos premier development studio, Entertainment Analysis and Development (EAD), and directed by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto. The games title is currently being labeled as tentative and a specific release date has not yet been announced but it is expected that Super Mario Galaxy will be available at the Wiis launch. Multiplayer modes are also expected to make their way into the game. Nintendo has promised that Super Mario Galaxy will be the best showcase of Nintendos Wii game console and its unique controller. |
