How many years has it been?

In 1994 Nintendo gamers experienced one of the greatest gaming experiences to date with a game called Super Metroid. Super Metroid had excellent control , visuals, and an incredible music score thanks to Koji Kondo . Many were sad to see the game end and all they could do was stare at the "See You Next Mission" screen at the end of the game.

It has been almost eight years in waiting and are prayers have been answered. Out favorite Bounty Hunter vixen is retuning to the Nintendo game scene with two Metroid titles. One of the titles is Metroid Prime.

Metroid Prime is being developed by Retro Studios under the guidance of Nintendo’s gaming god , Shigeru Mitamoto. Little is known of this title but what we do know is that it will have amazing visuals and that it will be a First Person Adventure. Yes, first person. When that news first broke many Metroid fans were shocked and disgusted , like myself.

A 1st person perspective doesn’t seem to fit the style in which Metroid games are played. In the previous Metroid games you would morph into a ball to get into small places, use your grappling hook to swing to other platforms, scale incredible heights, jump off walls , and even fly. Don’t these actions seem impossible to be done through a 1st person perspective? Nintendo and Retro know it does and it most likely is impossible , that is why in certain areas these actions will be done by changing your perspective into 3rd person.

The future of this title is shady at the moment but we still don’t know exactly what to expect at the moment. No story has been revealed and all we have seen are two 45 second teaser videos which don’t give enough about this title to make an accurate assumption.

There is also one interesting tidbit that should not be left unansered. Will this game fit into the Metroid series. It is a remake, a sequel or a re-invisionment of the franchise? And is it related to the true Super Metroid sequel on the AGB , Metroid 4?

Unfortunately, once again we will have to until E3 in May.
