As we all remember when the past NFL games on Dreamcast made by the team of Sega Sports hit the shelves, they were going to be a hit. As each one came out, they progressed a lot. The graphics improved, the gameplay improved, more options became available, ect. But now Sega Sports will be releasing a greater, more improved NFL game for the PS2, which is NFL 2K3.

NFL 2K3 will be packed with many extra features and options to choose from and also many cool in-game features such as the in-game highlights, announcers, and more. The many options that you are able to choose from will be great and will keep you busy for hours at a time. Let me give out more detail:

The Season mode in NFL 2K3 will allows you to play the many teams of the NFL with the team of your choice. Also, you can design your own playbook choosing different plays from different teams, and mixing them up into one. And you can customize and build your team from the ground up from scratch. What else can you ask for?

The Tournament mode is good for multi-player. You can customize your branches with up to 16 teams, and play through a tournament with your friends. Play on a team with them, or not. Either way sounds great.

The Playoffs mode is really just a quick way of skipping the season mode. The only difference from season mode is that you are playing fewer games that are a little more intense with a little more challenge. That’s mostly it.

The Exhibition mode is really nothing different from the past Sega Sports NFL games or any other Exhibition mode in another football game. You pick the 2 teams of your choice, and you play a quick game which you are able to customize the quarter lengths and such.

The Situation mode allows you to create individual scenarios, to see how well you do under pressure. You can also adjust everything from the remaining yardage, remaining time, the quarter, and much more. This definitely sounds like a useful feature, which will help you practice for the season mode.

The Practice mode lets you choose the 2 teams plays and allows you to scrimmage over and over to improve your skills. Seems like a pretty useful feature to me.

The Franchise mode seems like one of the best modes in the game. This mode allows you to manage your players of your team for 30 seasons in a row, hiring and firing players, dealing with the players injuries, leading them to victory, Ext. all while trying to keep a good budget. You have to try and coach a winning team, trading and replacing injured and retired players for cheaper and better ones.

When you start the season, you will come face to face with losses and/or wins. Losses will apparently lower your budget, while winning will raise your budget, allowing you to hire better and more expensive players. This mode definitely sounds something look to forward to.

NFL 2K3 definitely sounds like something to look forward to this year, and definitely will be a must have game for sports fans. The release date is so far set for August of this year. Keep checking gamersmark.com for more updates.
