Its been years since gamers had the chance to play a decent Contra title. The PSX Contra game The Legacy of War. Really sucked balls. The other Cotra title never came about. A game scraped for the N64 called Contra Spirits 64. Now a real Contra is here to give us the joy of the near perfect SNES game Contra III: The Alien Wars. Features - Classic 2D game engine. With 3D backrounds. - New leading charcters. Including a female co-star.(WTF no contra brothers) - All classic weapons return Spread Gun, Homing Rockets, Flamethrower, etc... Game Time Konami has not said much about the story. But what is there to say. Aliens, Robots, & Alien Robots are trying to take over the world. Its up to you to stop them. On the gameplay front. The E3 demo consisted of two levels. The Train stage & The Fortress stage. It really started out like the old Contra games. Allowing me to collect three weapons at once. That you can cycle through. Or use two at a time. But the main thing that gets me groggy about the quality of the game. Is the fact that its average graphics are too dark. This is Contra not Silent Hill. Lay off the super dark look. Outlook Besides my complaints. CSS is looking to be a real treat for fans of the series. But wont catch the eye of gamers unfamiliar to Contra games. But with 3 months left to fix some things. GamersMark only wishes the best. ~ditto~ |
