Sorry, no media exists for this game.

Introduction

This is the sequel to the world renowned Rainbow
Six. This adds a lot of new characteristics to
the game. This is the most realistic game on the
market right now. There is now health or power
ups, you and the terrorists die with the same
number of shots. Heads don’t fly off either,
this is still on of the best games out there.

Presentation

The year is 2001. With the demise of Russia and
the Soviet Union terrorism has filled the gaps
left by them. Corrupt Russians help the
terrorists. The one and only international good
guy is a team code named Rainbow. This team is
classified and operates out of England. They can
go around the globe and stop terrorism. Rainbow
never gets credit for what they do, the local
police do. This team rescues hostages, places
bugs and cameras, blows things up, and takes out
terrorists.
The HUD is just a HUD, you don’t do anything in
it, you do it all with the keyboard. I don’t
like the default key setup, it is really
annoying and hard to get used to. But anyway.
The AI is pretty good, but it does have times
where guys get stuck on stairs, a lot. They also
run and get stuck in doorways and then they get
killed. One thing is that the terrorists aren’t
super accurate, they miss, a lot. And then your
accuracy depends on the gun. The AI could be way
better, but it is better than it was in Rainbow
Six.

Graphics & Sound

The graphics are pretty good. The main thing is
that they are the same graphics from in Rainbow
Six, but they could have better. They did add
rain and snow to the levels, and that creates a
huge effect in the mission, especially for
snipers, it is harder to see in the rain. This
is a huge plus for the game.

Gameplay

The play is really good. Very realistic down to
the body armor and what type of bullet it will
protect you against. The hostages also get
scared. Many times when they hear a gun shot
they get up, run, and scream. I have lost many
hostages because they reacted too much and the
terrorists blew them away, of course I blew the
terrorists away afterwards. They terrorists also
will surrender if they know they can’t win.
Neither you nor the terrorists get unlimited
ammo, they have to reload and while they do that
they will take cover so as not to get killed.
They do things that I think real terrorists
would do, shoot the hostages, then you. The only
thing that really bugs me is if you shoot say a
light, it just makes a noise and puts a bullet
hole on it, I want the light to break and turn
off. Other than that the Gameplay is awesome.
You are the team. This is the most realistic
game ever, therefore, you choose who you want to
be on your 8 man team. Certain people are better
at recon, some are snipers, and some assault.
You have to choose the best for each mission.
Then you plan how to assault your objective. If
you don’t do the plan right, you will not
succeed. And if you lose a person in one
mission, that person is dead for the rest of the
game, they don’t come back. You can use go-codes
to control the other teams and snipers, or you
can just let them go.

Lasting Appeal

Once you’re done, its done. But you can play
online and there are a few modifications to the
game available.

Conclusion

This game is the second of the type, and it
still can rock the world. I would recommend that
people get it. I give this game a 9 out of 10
