Introduction

While Falcon 4.0 has been out for almost 2 years now and is still one of the most impressive flight simulation titles around. There has even been a recent price drop from 48.99 to 19.99, making this one of the cheapest, and best fight Sim around. Boasting a 600-page manual that many real life pilots have told me could very well be used as a real life training manual. This game really has all the bells and whistles.

Presentation

Falcon 4.0&like your average flight game, however there are
plenty of options you wont find in most games.
Everything moves smoothly with very fluid
animation&

Graphics & Sound

Falcon 4.0 will recreate the feel of being a
F-16 pilot, or for others allow for the first
time a truly accurate view from the pilots point
of view. The flight model is second to none,
with flight parameters conforming to real world
specifications, although the Fly by Wire flight
computer tries to keep you out of trouble,
attacking two more limiters at the same time can
result in a terrible mess. Everything about the
presentation, graphics, and sound is great,
there is nothing like hearing accurate hissing
sounds from the engines.

Gameplay

Ok, so this game is HARD, a 600-page booklet,
keyboard layout key, and a map of Korea. And you
still cant get past the first mission, lets put
it this way, this game was made for hard-core jet
jocks (like me), however there is that manual,
perhaps you can learn to fly the real thing with
that, one thing that is really nice about this
game is how the AI of the planes dodge your heat
sinkers with tactics you would expect real life
pilots to use. Defiantly worth the 4 years of
development.

Lasting Appeal

As you can tell this game only appeals to Flight
Buffs, and maybe the occasional person who Is
willing to learn, however the learning curve on
this game is very large, perhaps I should stop
calling it a game, because its more of an f-16
simulator, one thing many people will tell you
is, be sure to have a joystick because it is
impossible to play without one, I personally
recommend the sidewinder pro, from Microsoft.

Conclusion

Well how do I sum it all up, Such a great game
with so few flaws, yes there were some flaws, in
the first version the game crashed many times,
however this was improved in version 1.03,
however this patch totally crippled the AI,
mostly small annoyances occurred. Micropose has
assured us they are hard at work fixing every
bug they can find, what do you know a game
company committed to their project, I like that.
