Lunar Legend is the portable reincarnation of the ever so popular Lunar series that first debuted on the Sega CD. This game was first made for the Sega CD, then remade for the PSone, and now it’s found its way right into Nintendo’s GameBoy Advance. This is essentially the same game as those found on the other systems with minor changes.

Lunar Legend follows the story of a young lad named Alex, who aspires to be a Dragonmaster like his fallen hero, Dragonmaster Dyne. Alex, along with his flying cat sidekick Nall, his fickle oversized buddy Ramus, and his childhood sweetheart Luna, meet a magician named Nash from the great magic city of Vane. Nash, being his arrogant self, tells the group he’s looking to become the next Dragonmaster, and ends up taking their help in seeking out the mighty White Dragon. Pretty right down the lines of all RPG’s right? Yeah well the story doesn’t get too deep but stays solid through the game. The game is easy to pick up with its user-friendly interface. As a matter of fact, I was more than surprised with the amount of offensive and defensive capabilities the game contains. Well when I first played it on Sega CD. But playing is still improved from the Sega CD version. The battles are faster with more animated, and decorated with bigger, more detailed characters and enemies. And even though character customization options are limited, new levels come quickly, and weapon upgrades are plenty. There’s even a new card game added that gives Yu-Gi-Oh a run for his money(just kidding).

Conclusion
This is one of the best RPG’s you will find on the Gameboy Advance. But not the best so if you didn’t play Golden Sun yet or don’t wanna wait for Golden Sun 2. This can be a good title to pick up while you wait for the real good stuff to come.
