Introduction Monopoly Tycoon is best Explained as Monopoly meets Sim City, When we first heard of this game, we thought, "oh great another Licensed Tycoon game". However Monopoly Tycoon has brought along with it more depth and character than I have found in many games with popular licenses. However if you are looking to pop in this disk and play a game of classic Monopoly you will be sorely disappointed. Infogrames has brought us a very interesting twist on some classic gameplay, Its the kind of thing that makes you glad to be a gamer.Presentation Presentation is as you would expect from most Sim type games, Complex yet easy to understand. You will be making your way to riches as a wealthy business leader in no time at all. Graphics & Sound While we did find a few graphical glitches using Intels Direct 3d Hardware, Monopoly Tycoon runs smooth and fairly fast without using hardware acceleration. While the detail of characters and buildings arent what many would expect them to be by todays standards they fit the overall emotion of the game, along with the fairly decent soundtrack featuring tunes that will most likely remind you of some other "tycoon" or "Sim" games. This game may not be over spectacular on the graphics or sound end, but it is gameplay that matters most.Gameplay The single player mod consists of scenarios, each with three different levels of difficulty (even the easy difficulty is challenge enough). For instance youll have to be the first player to reach a set goal of sales, land value, or overall assets without going in the red. This game will definitely cater to fans of the Sim City Series considering there is a lot of influence noticeable here. Once you have finished all the games Scenarios there is an open-ended game. Your chance to blend all the parts of the game into one never ending adventure to become the "Monopoly" [Not Microsoft] However you must remember to make sure your citizens have a place to live, eat, sleep, party, and shop at.Lasting Appeal As mentioned before this will most likely appeal to fans of both the Sim city series, and fans of previous Tycoon games. It would be awfully hard not to enjoy this game, that is if you love games at all. There are other games on the market right now that are similar in gameplay to Monopoly Tycoon, but they just dont have what it takes to make a great simulation game. Conclusion It doesnt take a rocket scientist or a Gamersmark Editor to realize that everyone should at least have the chance to play this very unique title. It is available in most stores as of the time of this uploading and will most likely fool most of the people who still think this is just another Tycoon game with a bad license. |
