Since when did being a marine involve going to Mars and killing demons from another dimension? Well it does in Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. A UAC satellite has detected a beacon on an abandoned UAC base. You are a marine of Dr. McNeil’s team and you are sent back to Mars to find out where this signal is coming from. Deep into the abandoned UAC base, you find an artifact that connects the demon world with this one. Within a matter of seconds, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE (literally).

There is nothing better than being trapped and fully strapped. Satan thought his minions could annihilate you and the rest of your team. Well the rest of your team is dead but YOU’RE still alive and it is time to show Mr. Satan what a marine can do. Rip through the base with classic Doom weapons such as single and double barrel shotguns, plasma cannons, chain-guns and oh yes, the BFG. In this expansion your pistol has a flashlight attached to it so u don’t have to keep switching between pistol and flashlight like the original DOOM 3. Also a Grabber gun was added for those of you who were just a little pissed off at those demons throwing their fireballs at you. The Grabber allows you to control gravity. Picture holding explosive barrels, enemy projectiles, boxes, and even office supplies in mid air and then launching them at your enemy.

Not only you are packing all this heat, you also have the artifact. The artifact allows you to harness demonic powers within it. With these powers you can control time and become extremely powerful. Doesn’t Satan wish he didn’t leave his artifact lying around like that. Kill bosses to possess their powers into the artifact and absorb human lives to bring about this power.

The single player mode is great and full of surprises. It’s like being trapped in the movie Alien but in hell. You even get to run through Mars when moving from base to base. I wonder if demons need oxygen to breathe too. Maybe they can hold their breathe for a long time. As for the online multiplayer, it sucks. First off you can’t find many available games, or even one because no one plays the multiplayer. The online multiplayer only supports four people per game anyway. Even so, the single player mode is awesome, like every other Doom game. It just never gets boring blasting demons to pieces and watching their blood splash all over the place. This game is worth replaying after you beat it. When you beat the game, you unlock Nightmare mode, now try and beat that. For all you FPS and Doom fans, this expansion is definitely worth getting.
