Introduction

Armored Core 2 is a a much improved sequel from
the last which was on the psx. It involves being
inside of an ac(mech) and using it to do
missions and beat others in the arena. The game
was one of the launch games for the psx2, and it
was the only game i bought at the launch, i
think the game was worth buying. If you liked
Armored Core for psx, you will love this game.

Presentation

The menus are much like the first one. It has
system where you can save or load game data or
acs(mechs) from your memory card. Missions are
also just like the first one. You play missions
to make money so you can buy parts to upgrade
your mech, this is what makes the game hella
fun. The shop is where you buy all the stuff for
your mech. You can customize approximately 13
different part of your ac, no one ac is the best
so its fun to explore all the possibilities. The
garage section is where you put all the stuff on
that you bought or found. The mail section is
where u get information about missions you just
completed and new parts that are available for
purchase. Also ever now and then u get mail
about beating someone in the arena. The arena is
the funniest part of this game. You start at rank
50 and you have to work your way up by defeating
all the challengers ahead of you. More will join
later and start off at the lowest rank, some of
them are very good. It takes a great deal of
money for parts and experience to get to the
top. You also receive parts and credits from
your opponents the first time you battle them.
There is also a VS mode that u can play with a
friend in. You both can upload ac (mech) data
from your memory cards to fight in the arena
with each other, this feature is very cool.

Graphics & Sound

The music of the game is not very fun music at
all, its very repetitive, but it doesn’t really
get that annoying with me, i just ignore it. The
sound effects aren’t that great but they aren’t
that bad, its not like your watching Gundam
Wing and you hear all of those shitty stupid
sounds, its better than that.

Gameplay

The game play is just like the first game of the
series, its kinda stupid at first, but u get
used to it fast and you find it to be very good.
Of course a lot of that determines what parts
you have equipped on your ac. You have boosters
that make u fly, but they overheat after a
while, there is a bar on the side which tells
you how much you are using up, some parts that
you can have for your ac makes the energy bar
last longer or shorter. Energy can be used up by
certain weapons as well if they require energy
to be used. The bar will increase when no energy
is being used, if u get down to the bottom of
the bar, you got to wait till it reaches the top
again before you can use more.

Lasting Appeal

This game will keep you going for a while, the
50 ranks you can have in the arena, the more
than 35 missions to beat, and making your ac
better using the over 200 customizable parts to
make yourself stronger to fight your friends in
Vs mode.

Conclusion

Overall this game is one I suggest you buy, its
much like the first and much better than the
first one. You will like this game if you like
mech games, this is one of the best mech games
ever made. I hope you have fun with it.
