Creative and original IPs on the Wii have become something of a rarity, especially ones that sell 230,000 copies (as per NPD). De Blob, by these standards, is a success.

A THQ spokesperson said the company is pleased with the title’s performance so far in an interview with IGN.

"We’re pleased with de Blob’s performance worldwide," he said. "It’s a great intellectual property and you can tell your readers to expect to see more of de Blob in the future."

No specifics have been revealed, but this is certainly welcome news to those who would like to blow the dust off of what has become to many nothing more than an alabaster paperweight.
