Microsoft doubled down on its Zune brand by leveraging its dominance in streaming media and game platform convergence by announcing that Xbox Video will become Zune Video later this year.
Among the changes coming are:
- Instant streaming of downloads, even at 1080p.
- Distributed couch potatoes (our name, not theirs) which will allow friends to view the same video over the internet.
- A Facebook App will be added for Xbox games along with integration of Facebook Connect
- The ability to post to Twitter from Xbox
- Finally, and a feature Ive long waited for, Netflix customers will no longer have to add items to their instant queue from their browser, the Netflix library will be able to be browsed from within the Xbox.
